Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains
The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chains by GCNS and öbu was officially launched in Bern in February 2019.
Joseph Känzig, Head of Section Consumption and Production BAFU, provided some introductory remarks on the environmental hotspots in the supply chain of Swiss companies at the Kick-Off Meeting.
This Working Group which is jointly run by Compact Network Switzerland and öbu provides a platform for mutual exchange of best practices and experiences within a familiar framework.
Participants first reflected individually and then in small groups on five topics related to sustainable supply chain management that were identified based on online and phone surveys conducted in 2018. Four core topics where identified and prioritized by the group.
The resulting topics of the Working Group were therefore:
1. Supply chain visibility and traceability
2. Supply chain risk analysis and sustainable procurement
3. Human Rights due diligence
4. Supplier assessment and management
This Working Group is open for öbu and/or UN Global Compact members only. You can become a member here.
