The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chains by GCNS and öbu was officially launched in Bern on the 5th of February 2019. A big thank you from us to all the participants for their contributions and active participation. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Joseph Känzig from BAFU for the very enlightening presentation on the environmental hotspots in the supply chains of Swiss companies.
This Working Group which is jointly run by Compact Network Switzerland and öbu provides a platform for mutual exchange of best practices and experiences within a familiar framework. The Kick-Off meeting took place in Bern on the 5th of February 2019 and is open for all members of GCNS and öbu. The goal of this meeting was to better define and frame the topics for the next sessions and shape a concrete roadmap.
Joseph Känzig, Head of Section Consumption and Production BAFU provided some introductory remarks on the environmental hotspots in the supply chain of Swiss companies.
Participants first reflected individually and then in small groups on five topics related to sustainable supply chain management that were identified based on online and phone surveys conducted in 2018. Four core topics where identified and prioritized by the group. The resulting roadmap of the Working Group:

- Supply chain risk analysis and sustainable procurement
- Human Rights due diligence
- Supplier assessment and management
