Building Bridges: Workshop on Credible Climate Transition Plans across Sectors

As part of the Building Bridges Action Days, the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein will host together with Swiss Sustainable Finance a workshop on Credible Climate Transition Plans across Sectors. 

Climate transition plans provide essential guidance for the economy in meeting climate objectives. By aligning strategy with measurable metrics and engaging stakeholders, they serve as key tools for advancing toward climate goals. The workshop will begin with an opening by Antonio Hautle, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein. Participants will then gain an overview of climate transition plans (speaker to be confirmed), followed by a contextualization within Switzerland, presented by Silvia Ruprecht from the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). Insightful examples will be shared by a financial industry practitioner (speaker to be confirmed) and Katelijn van den Berg from Schindler representing the real economy. The session will continue with dynamic small group discussions, fostering knowledge exchange between financial institutions and corporates. The event will conclude with a summary of key takeaways and closing remarks delivered by Sabine Döbeli CEO of Swiss Sustainable Finance.

On 9 – 12 December, the 2024 edition of the Building Bridges conference will take place in Geneva. Building Bridges’ ambition is to leverage the power of finance for sustainability.
