Responsible Technology and AI
Although there is an increasing realization that artificial intelligence can improve decision making, efficiency and generate new insights, developers and organizations need to be aware of potential risks and consequences that are specific to developing AI solutions. The concept of Responsible AI includes efforts to develop and use artificial intelligence in a responsible manner and thus create solutions that are built on value based and ethically well reflected social and moral capabilities. These capabilities are set through Responsible AI frameworks, which include the following elements: ethical reflection, social responsibility, accountability and explainability, as well as reliability. They are therefore well positioned to contribute to responsible business conduct (RBC/CSR) and to the Agenda 2030 with the 17 SDGs.
During the pre-evening dialogue Esther van Laarhoven-Smits from EY will elaborate on a Trusted AI framework. Shalini Trefzer from Microsoft will share real life examples of how Responsible AI enables Lifescience enterprises to improve patient outcomes which in turn contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals such as Good Health and Well-Being. Lisa Falco from Zühlke will share her experience of developing machine learning applications and present use cases within the medically regulated field. With the right frameworks, regulations are not a break for innovation but a requirement for high quality and fairness.
