About the event

In the face of climate change, water security emerges as a critical concern, fundamentally altering the way we look at water systems, and how we govern and manage these systems effectively.

Businesses of all types rely on water, using it as a critical resource in their production processes and throughout their supply chains. Despite substantial investments in water solutions, current progress remains insufficient, with water challenges posing significant risks to business continuity, ecosystems and affected communities. As a result, the private sector has a significant role to play in improving water resilience, and achieving net positive water impact in the most water stressed basins, through corporate water stewardship and collective action.

In this webinar, we will address how businesses can identify, measure and address their impacts and dependencies on water by drawing on insights and resources from the CEO Water Mandate and the UN Global Compact (UNGC) Forward Faster initiative. We will share practical strategies of leading practice and how companies are working together through collective action to address water security and improve water resilience.

We invite Swiss and Liechtenstein companies to join these global efforts building water resilience. Participants will be equipped with knowledge and tools to set goals and take action on the road to net-positive water impact.

The following questions will be addressed:

  • Why is the water crisis considered a significant risk to your business, and how are climate impacts amplifying these risks?
  • What actions can companies take to effectively manage water-related risks and build long-term water resilience?
  • How can companies engage in building water resilience through collective action via the UNGC Forward Faster Water Resilience initiative?

  • Welcome I Florian Strasser, CEO GWF & Board Member GCNSL
  • Introduction to the Forward Faster initiative I Antonio Hautle, Executive Director UN Global Compact Network Switzerland and Liechtenstein
  • Water stewardship and steps to build long-term water resilience I André Villaça Ramalho, UNGC Water Resilience Coalition Lead
  • Water action in practice I Renata Pollini, Head of Nature at Holcim
  • Q&A and closing

Target audience: This webinar is open to all interested companies and especially targeted at company representatives that are in charge of driving water action within their organizations.
