Climate Ambition Accelerator
The Climate Ambition Accelerator is a 6-month training program for participants/signatories of the UN Global Compact who are looking to make progress towards setting science-based emissions targets and create a path to address their organization’s transition to net-zero.
The Climate Ambition Accelerator aims to increase credible climate action across companies of all sizes and sectors. No matter where companies are in their sustainability journey, the Climate Ambition Accelerator will equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to boost progress towards setting science-based emissions targets aligned with the 1.5°C pathway.
Through our Local Network, participating companies will gain access to global best practices, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, capacity building sessions and on-demand training.
Take a deep dive into the methodology and approach of science-based targets (SBT) setting, from the basics to in-depth discussions about the net-zero concept for advanced stakeholders.
Drive climate change ambition internally and build internal buy-in and engagement for climate action at the management and board level.
Learn how to manage greenhouse gas emissions and implement different emission reduction strategies to meet ambitious targets.
Program schedule & costs
The 6-month training program includes a mix of on-demand sessions for independent learning, online workshops, peer learning formats and global sessions with case studies on leading companies in climate action. In addition, participants will be invited to attend global events.
Registration: April 22 to June 21, 2021
Program duration: June to December 2021
Effort: Approximately 25-30 hours over the 6 months (including ca. seven hours of self-learning on-demand content and six hours of facilitated group sessions as well as the possibility to attend global events)

To take part in the Climate Ambition Accelerator, companies are required to be participants of the UN Global Compact, and:
Currently engaged with the Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein
Interested in setting ambitious emissions reduction targets aligned with climate science at the pace and scale required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement
Willing to appoint two representatives to participate in the accelerator activities and events and an executive-level representative to follow accelerator developments, provide support and participate in high-level events
Learn how to set science-based emissions reduction targets to achieve net-zero by 2050
Motivate investors, leadership, employees and shareholders with an emissions reduction plan that sets your organization apart in the market
