How to join
To join the UN Global Compact and the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein, businesses are asked to follow the steps below. If you are a non-business organization, please visit this page for more information.
Please note that for micro-businesses (<10 employees) decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Step 1: Application handbook
Review the application handbook for a detailed overview on the joining process.
Step 2: Apply online
Complete the online application form. If you are a Swiss subsidiary of a transnational company that is already a UN Global Compact Participant, please identify this in the online application.
Please have an official/legal registry document ready to confirm your company's legal status during the online application process.
You will also be asked to provide information about your company's highest level executive (CEO or equivalent) who will sign an automatically generated Letter of Commitment addressed to the UN Secretary-General committing to implement the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, act in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, and report on their progress annually (CoP).
Step 3: Invoicing
Once your application was confirmed, you will receive an invoice from the UN Global Compact Head Office. Your annual contribution fee will be shared between:
-
Our Local Network: UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein
-
Our head office: UN Global Compact
-
Our Local Network Development Fund (LNDF) supporting emerging Local Networks
Only companies with a turnover below US$ 50 million, non-business participants and subsidiaries will receive an invoice from the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein for the local contribution only.
Please note that you will be receiving only one invoice.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us should you have any questions regarding your application. We will be happy to assist you.
