About the event
In an era of increasing regulatory pressure and public expectation, communicating sustainability progress has become a critical challenge for businesses. While companies in Switzerland and globally are advancing their ESG and sustainability initiatives, they face a public that is both concerned and sceptical. The latest research reveals a complex landscape where the sense of individual responsibility for climate change is declining, even as the expectation for corporate and governmental action remains high. A significant gap often exists between corporate actions and public perception, and an even wider gap between consumer intentions and their actual behaviour.
This webinar, presented by Ipsos for the UN Global Compact Network in Switzerland & Liechtenstein, is designed to address this challenge directly. Our objective is to equip participants with the latest market research insights and a practical communications framework to help them navigate the complexities of ESG perception and build stakeholder trust through transparency and authenticity. We look forward to sharing the virtual stage with Hana Baronijan Head, Public Affairs and Marcus Burke, Director Corporate Reputation & Public Affairs from Ipsos.
Agenda
The session will be structured into three parts to create a clear narrative, moving from global trends to the specific Swiss context, and finally to actionable communication strategies.
Part 1: The Macro View: Global Trends in Sustainability Perception
This section provides a data-driven overview of current global societal attitudes towards sustainability, drawing from Ipsos's latest international research. We will unpack the nuances behind the numbers to provide a true understanding of the complex and sometimes contradictory data.
Part 2: The Local Lens: Swiss Realities vs. Global Benchmarks
This part will dive deep into the Swiss context, comparing local data with global trends to highlight the unique challenges and opportunities for businesses operating in Switzerland & Liechtenstein.
Part 3: The Business Case for Sustainable Communication
This final section shifts from perception to practice. To avoid accusations of "greenwashing" or counterproductive "greenhushing," we will present general guidelines and recommendations for building a robust and trustworthy communication strategy.
