Sharing & Learning: Climate Mitigation
Part 1 of the Sharing & Learning Series on Climate Action
Time & Location
19 Sept, 10:00 – 11:30
About the event
Around 3.5 billion people, nearly halt the world’s population, live in highly climate-vulnerable countries, and even small increases in global warming amplify the severity and frequency of extreme events. To minimize damages, businesses must lead credible decarbonization efforts, supporting strong climate policies and net-zero plans.
A key step companies can take to achieve such robust decarbonization plans is by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Focusing on climate mitigation, this session offers a platform for exchange with industry experts and peers on how to achieve ambitious emissions reductions.
What you will learn
- Gain insights into the process of defining a Science Based Target and the steps to achieve it
- Learn about emission reduction strategies and good practices from other companies
- Explore industry examples, available tools and exchange experiences on how to overcome mitigation challenges with peers
The Sharing & Learning series is open to UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein participants and especially targeted at company representatives that are in charge of driving climate action within their organizations, aiming to learn from industry examples and exchange experiences with like-minded professionals.
