Communication on Engagement

Non-Business Participation

Non-business organizations such as academic institutions, business associations, cities/municipalities, civil society organizations/non-governmental organizations, labour unions and public sector organizations are eligible to join the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein if:

  • They provide clear value to our business participants or there is potential for collaboration

  • They are willing to demonstrate their continued engagement by submitting the required Communication on Engagement (CoE) every two years

  • They actively engage in our activities

 

A decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Communication on Engagement (CoE)

The CoE is a public disclosure through which participants inform stakeholders about their efforts to support the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and about their engagement in the initiative. Through the CoE participants demonstrate their commitment to promote the implementation of the Ten Principles among businesses.

The CoEs of all organizations are published on the UN Global Compact website.

Application process

1. Review the application handbook for a detailed overview of the joining process.

2. Complete the application form online. You will be asked to provide information about your company's highest level executive (CEO or equivalent) who will sign an automatically generated Letter of Commitment addressed to the UN Secretary-General stating your commitment to the implementation of the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, participation in the activities of the initiative where feasible and submit a biennial submission of a Communication on Engagement (COE).
