You are currently seeing the application process for:
Step 1: Application handbook

Review the business application handbook for a detailed overview on the joining process.

Step 2: Apply online

Complete the online application form. If you are a Swiss subsidiary of a transnational company that is already a UN Global Compact Participant, please identify this in the online application.

Please note that for micro-businesses (less than 10 employees), decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

You will also be asked to provide information about your company's highest-level executive (CEO or equivalent), who will sign an automatically generated Letter of Commitment addressed to the UN Secretary-General committing to implement the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, act in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, and report on their progress annually (CoP).

Step 3: Invoicing

Once your application has been accepted by the United Nations Global Compact, you will be able to access to all offerings at the global and country network level. All business participants are obligated to pay their respective annual contribution fee to access all programmes and services offered.

Annual financial contributions from business participants with an annual gross sales/revenue of above USD 50 million will be invoiced through the Foundation of the Global Compact. The United Nations Global Compact is supported by the Foundation for the Global Compact, a U.S.-based non-profit that exists solely to provide vital financial, operational, and programmatic assistance to the work of the UN Global Compact. Your annual contribution is used to deliver programmes and participant services in collaboration with Global Compact Country Networks. Your annual contribution fee will be shared between:

1) Our Country Network: UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein (GCNSL).

2) Our Head Office: UN Global Compact (through the Foundation of the Global Compact).

3) A small percentage is set aside for the Country Network Development Fund - a mechanism created to support new and developing networks.

The UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein will invoice, collect, manage, and retain all fees from business participants with annual revenues of less than USD 50 million and subsidiaries of UN Global Compact business participants.

Please note that you will be receiving only one invoice.
