Working Group 
Sustainable Supply
Chain Management

The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chain Management is a knowledge-sharing platform for Swiss production companies founded in 2019 by öbu - Swiss Business Council for Sustainable Development and the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein. The meetings of the working group are held three times a year, either online or in person, on various sustainability topics relating to the supply chain.

Objectives

  • Exchange, learn and connect with companies from different industries on relevant supply chain topics

  • Gain knowledge, insights and inspiration to manage environmental and social performance in the supply chain

  • Build a community and network of sustainability professionals and supply chain experts


Participation eligibility

  • Being a member of öbu and/or a participant of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein

  • Employees working on corporate sustainability

  • Excludes consultants and consultancy firms

  • Excludes employees working in the sales department with a target group in the private sector

  • Willing to actively participate and engage in the working group meetings

  • Open to sharing own challenges as well as good practices and learning from peers

Topics that have been discussed in the past:

  • Grievance mechanisms in the supply chain

  • Risk mapping in supply chains with a focus on the identification of child labour risks

  • German Supply Chain Act

  • Supplier engagement to reduce Scope 3 emissions

Future topics may include:

  • Conflict minerals

  • Water scarcity

  • Deforestation regulation

  • Living wage

  • And many more

The Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chain Management
